Frequently asked questions

What is a closing-range forecast?

A range of prices where an asset's daily close is likely to land. Ours is calibrated so the close falls inside it about 8 days out of 10.

When are forecasts published and scored?

Published at 12:00 UTC (8:00 AM ET in summer, 7:00 AM ET in winter) and scored at the OKX daily close at 00:00 UTC (8:00 PM / 7:00 PM ET).

Which assets do you cover?

Bitcoin (BTC/USDT), Ethereum (ETH/USDT), Solana (SOL/USDT) and tokenized gold (XAUT/USDT) on OKX spot. The list was fixed in advance.

Do you predict whether the price goes up or down?

No. We tested directional models and they were no better than a coin flip. We forecast how far the price is likely to move, which is predictable.

How do I know past forecasts weren't edited?

Every live forecast is sealed with a SHA-256 hash chained to the previous record, and the chain hash is posted to Telegram before the day closes. You can verify it on the Verify page.

What is the backtest in the history?

The same formula computed after the fact on real OKX prices since January 1, 2025. It's shown separately from live forecasts and always labeled.

Is this investment advice?

No. It's a statistical review of volatility. We never recommend buying or selling.
